Despite the rather misleading subtitle, Generation Two of Tamagotchi was little more than a slightly altered re-release.

The characters were "changed", the game went from a "guess-which-way-I'll-look" game to a "guess-whether-the-next-number-will-be-higher-or-lower" game, and the foods were tweaked a bit. And yes, in the overseas releases, the "Tamagotchi returning home sequence" was changed to minimize trauma for all concerned.

For the sake of comparisons, I've "paired up" the Generation One and Generation Two Tamagotchi Characters. Many of them are similar in more than just appearance! Originally, I even had the G2 Tamagotchi Characters on the same page as their Generation 1 counterparts, but that led to really long pages, so I separated them. There's still some heavy cross- referencing between the "paired" pages, though, for which I apologize.

I no longer have as much time to spend on Tamagotchi as I used to... University will do that to you, I've found... as will a handbag full of dead, battery-less Tamagotchis.

*grimaces*
