Plankton-chi
|
Favourite Oden Ingredient:
Hard Boiled Egg
[Sleeping pattern:
nap for 5 minutes.
Minimum weight:
1 gram]
|
He grew up with several tens of thousands of childhood friends and relatives, but thanks to
Predators and other agents of natural selection, he is
currently all alone.
Perhaps as a result of this, he has rather lonely, world-weary, anguished eyes for such a little
baby.
He is very independent, and plans to leave the Tamagotchi Ocean to search all the seas in the
world for new friends.

Kurage-chi [Jellyfish]
|
Favourite Oden Ingredient:
Stringy Konnyaku
[Sleeps from
7 pm to 9 am, + naps
Minimum weight:
5 grams]
|
He's always floating around, but not because he's lazy: he just hates to swim!
[I fail to see the distinction.]
However, when he really feels like it, he can swim faster than anyone else. (Although
most people don't know about this, since he can only swim up and down.)
There's an utterly false rumour going around the Sakana-chi [Fish-tamagotchi] crowd that says
that the Kuragechi has a poisonous sting. As a result, Kuragechi is surrounded by fawning
Sakanachi who are afraid of his "poison".
(The Kuragechi is under the mistaken impression that he's just "very very popular".

Stage 2: Kodomo-sh [The Teenaged Fishies]
|
|
Ototo-chi [Fishie-chi]
|
Favourite Oden Ingredient:
Gobo-Maki
[Burdock Wrapped In Konnyaku]
[Sleeping pattern:
9 pm to 9 am, + naps
Minimum weight:
15 gram]
|
He may not look impressive, but this Sakanachi is quite a character... a bit of a Renaissance-
fish, in fact!
Those things sticking out of his body aren't fins, but are in fact his arms.
He works out his arms everyday by doing push-ups, but no-one knows why... perhaps it's to taunt
that jerk of a Black Bass by fly-fishing, or perhaps it's so that he can someday acheive the
honour of becoming the Tsukkomi in traditional Kansai-region Comedy?
His hobbies also include looking for treasure in sunken ships.
[Note: He swims off and on screen, unless he's got a poop or skull following him, in which case
he sort of "paces" by always going in the same direction.
When he was being naughty and selfish, I could have sworn I saw him swim backwards...]

Kingyo-chi [Goldfish]
|
Favourite Oden Ingredient:
Chikuwa-bu
[Sleeps from
8 pm to 10 am + naps
Minimum weight:
10 grams]
|
This little fishie adores the Keropyonchi and calls him "Boss". He's always
hiding in the Keropyonchi's shadow, and talks tough, but is secretly quite a
coward and is terrified of Nyatchi the Tam Cat.
Kingyo-chi is quite near-sighted, and really zooms in whenever you call him, so the other
Sakanachi don't like him very much.
[Sorry about the vague translation... The word listed there is one I'm not familiar with.]
If he doesn't get a daily shower of fresh water, Kingyo-chi feels a little under the weather.
[Note: This is NOT for real! It's just a character blurb! Do NOT moisten your Ocean Tam!]
[My 4th Ocean tam turned into a Kingyochi at age 2, and his discipline went from 12 bars to
4 bars.]
|
Stage 3: Adult-sh [Adult Fishies]
|
|
KeroPyonchi [Ribbit-hop-chi]
|
Favourite Oden Ingredient:
Han-pen
[Um... it's triangular. I don't know what's in it... possibly fish paste... but it's pretty good.]
[Sleeping pattern:
9 pm to 7 am?, + naps
Minimum weight:
20 grams]
|
He's a boisterous character with a big voice and a tendency to over-react to everything... quite
a nuisance, really!
He's got so much extra energy that he occasionally goes up on land to torment the Mushi-chi
[Forest or Garden or Bug Tams] but he's a good guy at heart.
When he's faced with a girl, however, his usual exhuberance vanishes. He blushes bright
red and just sorta mumbles to himself. [Awwww.... Don't we all know kids like this?]
[I got him when my Ototochi was 6 years old.]

Taiyaki-chi
[Red Snapper-shaped cake filled with Red Bean paste]
|
|
Favourite Oden Ingredient:
Potato
[Sleeps from
8 pm to 9 am, + naps
Minimum weight:
8 grams]
|
He left the ocean to voyage on the land, but he never could get the salt-water out of his veins,
and so he returned to the Tamagotchi Ocean.
His tummy is filled with sweet, sweet red bean paste (made from fresh azuki beans from Hokkaido).
(As a result, his tummy is always surrounded by hungry Baby-fish and Kodomo-sh who have a sweet
tooth.)
Because he was quite popular at a Taiyaki yatai [stand] in Kyushuu, he speaks with a Kyushuu
accent.
He's best friends with another taiyaki [Red Snapped shaped cake] who's filled with cheese sauce.
[My 4th Ocean Tam turned from a Kingyochi to this at age 4. Discipline went from full to 4 bars.
Has buck teeth when happy. Sticks tongue out when mad, and slurps in food with upper lip when
eating.]

Kai-chi
[Clamshell]

|
Favourite Oden Ingredient:
Bomb
[I really, really hope I just mistranslated this...]
[Sleeps from
? pm to ? am, + naps
Minimum weight:
?? grams]
|
A shy, romantic Sakana-chi.
Hir main hobby is to write poetry, and hir poems are so full of poesie that the reader can't
help but blush.
S/he feels happiest when staring at the beautiful pearl hidden away in hir shell.
[Apparently, this one becomes a secret character, Ningyochi the Mermaid!]

Kujira-chi [Whale]
|
|
Favourite Oden Ingredient:
Daikon [White beet]
[Sleeps from
?? pm to ?? am, + naps
Minimum weight:
??? grams]
|
A singer-songwriter. His rainbow-hued voice [???] is said to span 7 octaves at least.
Most people assume that, as a whale, he must be quite big, but in fact he's small enough to fit
in a child's wading pool.
However, since he's afraid of losing face, Kujirachi uses the magic of Perspective to look big.
So if you try to go near him, he backs away from you at the exact same speed.
He recently lost his very precious [onsa:... Not sure. Might mean "differences in tone".], and
is said to be searching for it.
[On second thought, maybe he lost his tuning fork.]

Ashigyo-chi [Leg-fish]
|
|
Favourite Oden Ingredient:
Daikon [White beet]
[Sleeps from
?? pm to ?? am, + naps
Minimum weight:
??? grams]
|
Ashigyochi was sick of swimming, and gill-breathing... So he washed his feet of the ocean and
sprouted his own two feet!
You'd never guess from looking at him, but he's actually an avid surfer.
He's a distant relative of the Taiyaki-chi, but they don't get along very well.
