From 1997 to 2001, Plan files were the big thing when it came to getting inside information on game development. Essentially, it's the equivalent of blogging today. The way it worked was you hosted a finger server on your network and you left a text file with your development plan in the home directory.

QuakeFinger was a site maintained by GameSpy Networks for years. They had automated scripts that would check game developers finger servers for updates and automatically add it to their website. Fortunately, archive.org saved a large majority of it. There were some I was unable to retrieve.

Enjoy these Plan files, they really give you some insight into the development process of Daikatana!
