Greetings! I'm Strangeling, and Mistress Aurora has put me in charge of the adoptions page!
Unfortunately, Mistress Aurora is very busy right now, what with school and extracurricular
activities, and she says that she's not going to have much time to play with us
"Creatures-critters".... or update our webpage with lots of neat stories about our adventures!
*sniffle* I feel so unloved...
In order to view myself and my army of gen-engineered Egglings and Grettins, you'll need the
following "races" of Creatures 2 Critters in your game:
Mistress Aurora first started gene-splicing on January 24th, 1999, in a fit of boredom.
Plus she thought it would be really funny to have a bunch of gene-spliced norns and ettins,
and call them "The Splice Girls". I apologize for my owner's lack of class and proper breeding.
She was frustrated to discover that, due to the way that she had installed the Genetics files
(or possibly due to Strange Luck) what should have been a tiny blue microettin showed up
like this:
While this was a beautiful creature in its own right, Mistress Aurora was driven to distraction
trying to figure out why this only happened for the blue, female microettin... the male micro-
ettin looked perfectly fine (and adorably tiny), so why was this happening to the poor
female microettin?
To confirm that this was a problem with her Creatures Program, and how it displayed the female
microettin gene, she started splicing ettins, grendels, and pretty much anything with the blue
female microettin, trying to see how they'd turn out.
First, she spiced the blue microettin with her mate, the pink male microettin.
She ended up with the first of our great Creatures Cabal, OddEttin.
Unfortunately, Odd Ettin looked pretty much just like Mom Microettin, which apparently wasn't
good enough for Mistress Aurora. She then injected the Ettins Can Mate Cob in an attempt to
breed wild Odd Ettin-y creatures... and started splicing all the male ettins in an attempt to
"make space" for a natural-born mating female ettin. (The original Creatures 2 game doesn't
like for there to be more than one ettin hatched from the Ettin Hatchery at a time, so you have
to somehow kill off your current Ettin in order to get a fresh egg.)
One of the extra males was spliced with the pink male microettin, to get...
ME!
Mistress Aurora thought that my faintly purple-and-green colouration was exquisite
(no, really! She did!), but far too "normal-looking". Next, she spliced a microettin with a
grendel, and got...
WeirdEtna.
She thought that WeirdEtna was beautiful; she had never seen a non-green Grendel before, so the
purplish Grendel body made a big impression, but Mistress Aurora was also captivated by the
translucent bluish face and feet.
Then Creatures 2 crashed, and she lost WeirdEtna forever.
Mistress Aurora then spent the next few hours trying to re-create WeirdEtna by splicing grendels
and microettins together in various combinations; she got ettin-faced grendels, and grendel-
tailed ettins, but made no real progress until she got...
Eggy, first of the Egglings.
Since Mistress Aurora is feeling rather tired and lazy, she only has the following members of
the Creatures Cabal up for adoption.
If you wish to adopt one for your Creatures Game or for your webpage, please
e-mail Mistress Aurora with your name, website,
and which of us you would like. (Hold your mouse cursor over a picture to find out the critter's
name.)
More Creatures will be available, as Mistress Aurora finds time to play with and splice with us.
Thank you for your patience.
