Last Day of my Tamagotchi Experiment: To Beep, or not to Beep?
I officially declare this Experiment over!
Results are inconclusive, due to my own mistakes (accidentally feeding Anaethema, laziness, etc).
As expected, Control Subject Air Razor turned into a mamechi.
The Experimental Subject Anaethema device, after a great deal of neglect-induced beeping became... Drumroll please....
A GINGIROTCHI!
This is interesting for several reasons.
- Many pages, including the legendary Tamagotchi Fever, suggested that Gingirotchi was a difficult character to get. Tips included "keep discipline at 75%", "take good care, only slightly less perfect than mamechi", and "take perfect care only let it beep once or twice as a child".
However, Anaethema broke all but the last rule; her discipline was at 100% when she transformed, she was made to beep almost all the time... in short, she should have become a kuchipatchi.
- Anaethema Device was hatched from my clear green tam
(Clan Liam). Her oldest ancestor in this egg was Book-kun of Clan Liam, so called because I decided to raise him "by the book", letting him beep for attention and scolding well. Sound familiar? Just like Anaethema, I didn't let him beep about twice in his life, both times so he wouldn't interrupt my dinner. It is interesting that 5 tams later, he returns to me, reborn.
- I was hoping to get a Ginjiro-Ten on my Angelgotchi. Instead, I got the ubiquitous Kuriten, the mamechi equivalent. I guess I'll have to try my Beeping method on my TamAngel next...
Here are the statistics for my Virtual Pets, on the sixth and last day of Experimentation...

And now, I must get started on my two essays due Monday (or at least make the pretence of doing so, for my parents' sake).
Thank you for reading! If you have any ideas for experiments (Eg: Games vs. Snacks, keeping meters at 50% vs. 100%, "bribing" by feeding candy when the tam's selfish, etc) e-mail me!
