My Osuchi and Mesuchi Diary

April 10th, 1998

I was tired this morning (mostly from staying up late to write up entries for the Osu/Mesu diary!) and so I slept blissfully until 9:30 or 10:00, when I was awoken by Jean beeping.

Having heard so many complaints/horror stories about people stuck on the Fourth Generation (ie, can't get any new characters after the Petit-Telechi --> Haruchi --> Kuribochi/Pyukichi --> Chomamechi/ChoHimechi cycle),
I decided to undertake a daring (for me) raising style:

Waiting until the mesuchi beeps before feeding or playing with her
Feeding her 2 candies and playing twice to fill her happy hearts
Disciplining as needed (it is a firm belief of mine that discipline has no bearing on the adult form: see My Tamagotchi Diary).

Since the person raising the Osuchi tends to pause and coddle his osuchi, I believe that this will result in slightly different adult-chi... maybe their bed times will be different, or something.

So far, Jean has been selfish 3 times (about 2 hours or so apart), and has gotten ill once, probably because I decided to see how many poops could pile up on her screen (I changed my mind 2 poops later).

...I am one of those osumesu owners who is caught in the never ending cycle of TMP 4. Since the 4th generation, I have gotten the Petit Teletchi babies, the Harutchi kids, the Pyukitchi and Kuribotchi teens and the Cho-Himetchi and Cho-Mametchi adults *four* times. I had them 5th gen, 6th gen and I am now on my 7th generation and currently have the Harutchi.

I am convinced that TMP 4 has only one path of characters to follow, like TMP 3. That is unless you get the unmateables, which according to a new Osumesu book I got (Tamagotchi Osutchi Mesutchi to Asobuhon) are called Sutebotchi and Tsukutchi and are considered TMP level ? in the book. There is another couple who look like an old grandma and grandpa couple (the grandpa kinda looks like Oyajitchi) and they are called Ojitchi and Otokitchi and are considered TMP 4. Also this book shows that there is another food choice but I have no idea when it "kicks" in. I haven't gotten it yet. It is a mushroom and sake as a snack. (The pic shows a flask and a little cup.) Believe me, I've tried neglecting them to the best of my abilities to see if they'd turn into anything else. I've let them go down to all empty hearts more than once a day. I've not scolded them. I've let the poo pile up.

One strange thing that happened the last generation was that out of the blue, my adult Mesutchi changed bedtimes on me! I've always gotten the matching couples and they've always gone to bed at the same time but the adult Mesutchi, the Cho-Himetchi, in the 6th gen decided to go to bed one hour later than the Osutchi AND she woke up *two* hours later! Their clocks are set at exactly the same time, maybe a couple seconds off, so I don't know what happened. I think of it as a sign that maybe some different will happen with this gen. I hope so! I'm sort of sick of having these same characters but now that I know that there are two couples that I haven't yet gotten AND another food choice, I'll stick it out until that happens, *if* it does happen.
