Mating Tams

Miriya didn't get much attention paid to her yesterday, as I was busy attending workshops, playing Groo the Game and doing all those others things that make a nerd's life so enriching
:D

Today, though, she had a busy day. She went to some fairly interesting classes with me, and at 11:30 or so got to meet Max, the Osuchi.

Max the Biruochi appears to have a smaller tummy pouch/pocket than Miriya. When he grins or eats, he has six teeth, rather than four like Miriya. Oh, and he's missing the pony or pig-tails, but otherwise they look quite similar. He was at 75% discipline, back up from 25%, I think.

They mated at about 2:10 pm or so, slightly before I had to go and catch a bus. Max jumped the gun a little and started his mating dance earlier than Miriya
;D
but they soon slid back with OK signs, and they happily mated. I did notice that Max's happy sun seemed to last for longer than Miriya's, apr?s mating. Hmmm...

Their babies turned out to be adorable little Petit-chocochi! Both parents appear to feed their babies mouth to mouth (or, failing that, teeth to mouth) while grinning madly. The babies don't seem to mind this or their parents' "slobber". Miriya's baby got ill once today (the skull was hidden under a baby and mommy poop! Eek!), but they have been otherwise fine.

And here's another poem telepathically dictated to me by Miriya:

To a Lover, Upon Motherhood
While Considering an Infant Child

My heart grows heavy,
Knowing that we soon will fade,
Will be forgotten;
And yet our love will live on
Forever, in our children.

Itsu no hi ka
Kieyuku ai ni
Ki wo shizume
Sukui hitotsu wa
Mada umarenu ko

Constructive criticism (ie, criticism that lets me know how I can improve stuff, as opposed to saying "You suck" "You ripped my poem off" or "Please don't ever inflict your poetry on us again") can be sent to twotone@snail-mail.net. Miriya and I look forward to hearing from you.

Miriya in particular is very eager to know what you all thought of the cherry blossom/young love metaphor, and wants to know if you all think it's done to death, or not.

Have no idea what the character names mean? Check out this page! My Translation of Bandai's Official Osuchi and Mesuchi Page!

The more astute (and, more to the point, Japanese-literate) among you will have noticed that the English poem and the Japanese one are substantially different.
My excuse this time is again, translation problems, as well as the fact that the Japanese version is closer to my heart. (It is also rather gnomic and difficult to comprehend... Most Japanese readers probably would not see its relation to the English version. Trust me, the poems do go together.

Think of the English version as Miriya speaking on behalf of Mesuchi everywhere, and the Japanese poem as my counterpoint to her poem, expressing my own feelings.
