Wrist Wanko Translated!

Wrist Wanko (Wanko is cute/kid slang for dog/puppy) is part of the Puchi Pet (or Happy Pet) Series from Bandai.
What is Wrist Wanko?

With Wrist Wanko, you can have your very own dog to take with you everywhere and to play with whenever you want.
Use the touch panel to pet it, use the B button to see how it's feeling...
Wear it on your wrist to spend lots of time with it and raise its friendliness level. Discipline it firmly to raise it's intelligence. Become really good friends with it to see all it's different actions and to gain high scores in the minigames more easily!

Before you play

1.
Remove the battery tab from the back of the unit.
2.Insert the unit in the wristband.
Widen the hole in the wristband and insert the unit. Be careful to orient the top and sides correctly.
Widen the hole in the same manner when you want to remove the unit from the wristband.
*If the wristband is not firmly secured to your wrist, the Wrist Wanko screen will go blank.

Initial Set-up
Once you are wearing your Wrist Wanko, you are ready to start your life with your puppy. To start, you must first enter several different settings.

1. Enter the date
Use the B button to increase each digit by one. Use the C button to move to the next digit. To make a correction, press the A button to go one digit back. Once you have set the year, month, day and time, press the C button to finish.
2. Enter your name
Use the A and C buttons to select a line, then use the touch panel to choose a letter. If you need to make a correction, press BS (backspace) on the the touch panel to go back one letter. Once you have entered your name, press B to finish. You can only enter up to 4 characters for your name.
3. Enter your gender
Use the A and C buttons to select, and B to enter. Press the touch panel to return to the Name Entry screen.
4. Enter your birthday
Enter your birthdate in the same manner as step one (entering the date). Press the touch panel to return to the Gender Entry screen.
5. Enter your puppy's name
Enter your puppy's name in the same manner as step 2 (entering your name). Press the touch panel to return to the Birthday Entry screen.

Default Mode
Pet your puppy!
If you use the touch panel while viewing the default screen, you can pet your puppy. If its friendliness level is high, it will be happy to be petted.
If you ignore your puppy, its friendliness level will gradually decrease.



Understanding your puppy
When your puppy's image is on the screen, press the B button to see what your puppy is currently thinking.


When your puppy calls
When a circle mark appears in the upper lefthand corner of the screen, it means that your puppy is calling for you. Press the B button to see what your puppy wants to say.MBR> Then, press the upper section of the touch panel to encourage it, or press the lower section to discipline it.


If your puppy is doing something good and you stroke the upper section of the touch panel...
If your puppy is doing something good, but you stroke the lower section of the touch screen...
However, if you discipline bad behaviour, your puppy's intelligence will increase. Be sure to train your puppy well!


What if your puppy gets sick?
If your puppy isn't feeling well, you have to comfort it. Touch the upper section of the touch panel to encourage it and make it well again.




Menu
While viewing the default screen, press the A or C button to view the menu. There are six different sections to choose from the menu.
1. Calender
When you see the calender screen, press B to see the current date. Press B or the touch screen to return to the menu.




2. Puppy tricks

When the Puppy tricks screen appears, press B to enter the tricks mode. Based on the way you touch the touch panel (top, bottom, left, right), your puppy will perform various tricks.



Try using the touch panel in different ways:

Before your puppy performs a trick, press the B button to see what it is thinking. Press the A or C button to return to the menu.

3. Game
Press the B button to enter the games mode. From here you can choose from the "Catch Bone" game, the "Jump Timing" game, fortune telling, and high scores. Use the touch panel to return to the menu.


Catch Bone Game
Use the A button to move your puppy left, and the C button to move your puppy right, and catch the bones that drop from above. If you catch the fishbones, the game is over. Normal bones are worth 10 points, and meaty bones are worth 20 points.

If you manage to get through the game without a miss, the 'Clear' screen will appear.

Jump Timing Game
Press the B button at the right time to stop the moving triangle mark on the center of the bar at the top of the screen. Usually on the third time, your puppy will jump when you press the B button.
If, on the third time, you manage to stop the triangle mark on the 'just timing' mark, you will be given a fourth time to jump. From this point on, every time you match the triangle mark to the 'just timing' mark, you will get another chance to jump, and your puppy's jumping skills will increase.

Fortune Telling
Here, your puppy can tell you 'today's luck' and your 'lucky colour'.
Your puppy will tell you your luck for the day by digging up some bones. You can determine your luck from the number of bones it digs up.
**When your puppy's friendliness level is high, it will also be able show you your 'lucky number' and 'love luck'.


High Score
(Recording high scores will increase your puppy's friendliness)
Press the A and C buttons to view the high scores for the Catch Game and Jump Game.

Auto ON/OFF
If you remove Wrist Wanko from your wrist, it will automatically turn off within 3-5 seconds. When you place it back on your wrist, it will automatically turn off.
If, while wearing Wrist Wanko, you do not touch the screen or press the button for 10 minutes, it will automatically turn off, but will turn on if your puppy calls you.

Reset Button
You should use the reset button when:
you are starting the unit for the first time, or you have changed the batteries
the unit has been subjected to a strong jolt or shock and is not working correctly, or the screen display is not working
**only use the reset button when necessary
**do not use sharp objects or too much force when pressing the reset button

4. Information
Bring up 'Information' from the menu and press the B button. Here you can view your name, birthday, and puppy's name. Use the A or C button to toggle through the data and press B to view.


5. Settings
Bring up the settings icon from the menu and press the B button. Here you can change the sound, time, and information settings.



Sound
Toggle between ON and OFF with the A or C button, and press B to enter.
Time
Here you can change the date and time. For further details, see the Initial Set-Up section.
Initialization
This will clear all the data from your wrist wanko.

6. Alarm
You can set your wrist wanko to beep at a set time.

Setting the alarm time is the same as setting the current time (See Initial Set-Up).
1. Turn the alarm to ON
2. Set the time for the alarm to sound
3. Press C to set the alarm and finish.
