How to Go Out Welcome to Tamagotchi Planet! In order for you to make a life for yourself here, the Tamagotchi Emperor has given you a house! Now let's go visit some of the places on Tamagotchi Planet! 1. At the Home Interior screen, press the A button to access the Home Options menu.At this menu, use the A button to direct the arrow on 'go out' (first option in menu). When you press B button to select this option, you will be taken to the Map screen. 2. On the map screen, use the A button to highlight the location you'd like to go, and then B button to enter. 3. After entering the desired location, you will see a screen of the building there, then you will see your character walking to it. 4. Once you arrive at the location, you will see the building again. Press the B button, and you will enter the building. When you are out at the various locations on Tamagotchi Planet, pressing the C button will return you to the Map screen. If there is another place you'd like to visit, just highlight and select from the Map. When you want to return to your Home Interior screen, simply select 'home' from the Map screen. Things you can do at home At your house, you can use items to play with, and to decorate with! Once you have upgraded your house, you can keep a pet! [At the Home Interior Screen] From the Home Interior Screen, press the A button to access the Home Options menu. From the Home Interior Screen, press the B button the see the time. From the Home Interior Screen, press the C button to access the Map screen. Choose 'Treasure Box' to decorate your home with items you've collected. At the Tamagotchi Market 'Real Estate' shop, expand your house - your Home Interior will be upgraded too! Home Options Menu Go Out Selecting this option will allow you to visit various locations outside your home. Treasure Box Selecting this option allows you to view and use items that you have bought from the Tamagotchi Market 'Gotchi Shop'. 1. Highlight and select the Treasure Box from the menu, and you will be shown the contents of your box. The items in the box are categorized in the same way as they are at the Tamagotchi Market. 2. Highlight and select the desired category using the A, and then the B button. Now you can play with or decorate with the item you've selected! 'Decorations' are further divided into seperate categories: If you select 'Pet Goods' you will only be able to see the items (for information on how to use them, see the 'Pet House' section) Bank Book Highlight 'Bank Book' with the A button, and press B to select and see the balance of your account at the Gotchi Bank. Pet House Once you have upgraded to the 'Expensive House', you can keep a pet. Look after your pet by feeding it and playing with it. 1. Highlight 'Pet House' with the A button, and press B to open the 'Pet House' screen. *When you have gotten 3 pet houses, you can select specific ones by using the A button to highlight, and B to select. 2. When you have chosen a Pet House, the pet who lives there will appear! Give them food, or play together with Pet Goods. Press the A button to open the Pet House menu screen, and choose your action with the A and B buttons. Food and Pet Goods have to be bought at the Tamagotchi Market 'Gotchi Shop' before you can use them. Your pets will not die if you do not feed them, but they will get lonely if you don't visit them, so play with them often! Things to do at the Gotchi Bank All the Gotchi Points that you collect on Tamagotchi Planet are saved at the Gotchi Bank. You can send points to a Keitai tamagotchi, or you can take your chances at a game of roulette. When you enter the bank, you will be shown the Bank Menu. Bank Book The Bank Book shows the balance of points you have in your account. You have a limit of 999999 points. Withdraw You can transfer points from your Home Deka to your Keitai Tamagotchi. 1. When you highlight and select 'Withdraw' you will be asked 'how much?'. Use the A button to select the amount you want to send to your Keitai, then press B to enter. 2. The 'communication' screen will appear. 3. Enter the 'Deka Tama communication' mode on your Keitai. 4. Move your Deka and Keitai close together (see picture in instruction book, page 9), and press the B button on the Keitai to start the transfer. If the 'communication failure' screen appears, try again. You can send between 10 - 9999 points. You cannot send more points than you have saved in your account. You cannot send points from your Keitai to your Deka. Once your Keitai character has passed the 'child' stage, it can use the 'communication mode'. Communication will not work in direct sunlight or under strong lights. Don't move the Keitai or the Deka while they are communicating. Communication with the Tamagotchi Plus will not work. Gamble (*note- this option actually translates to 'increase', but let's face it, it is really a gamble) Here you have the chance to double the points you have saved! 1. Highlight and select the 'gamble' option and you will be asked 'how much?'. Use the A button to select an amount, and B to enter. 2. The roulette wheel will spin and stop automatically. If it lands on a Gotchi Bag, you double the money you wagered. If it lands on a skull, you lose it.   You can wager between 10 - 9999 points. You can only wager as many points as you have saved. If the points you win combined with the points you have saved total more than 999999 points, you will lose the difference. Things to do at the Tamagotchi Game Center At the Game Center, you can play two different types of game! Play often and collect lots of Gotchi Points! (This is the same game that is found at the red Deka Tamagotchi's placed at stores around Japan.) When you enter the Game Center, either 'Picture Match Game' or 'Heart Catch Game' will be automatically selected for you. Picture Match Game 1. The screen is divided into a bottom, middle, and top section, and pictures of four different tamagotchi faces spin past. 2. Use the A or B button to stop each section, starting from the top. 3. If you match the correct sections of a face, you win! Heart Catch Game 1. Beneath a tamagotchi, a bow and arrow moves from left to right. (The tamagotchi that appears is randomly selected) 2. Aiming for the center of the tamagotchi's heart, press the A or B button to to stop the bow. 3. If the arrow hits the heart, you win! In both games, the number of points that you win is dependent on the tamagotchi who you won with. Points you win are automatically saved at the Gotchi Bank. While at the Game Center, press the C button to return to the map screen Things to do at the TamaTama Market TamaTama Market is a store on Tamagotchi Planet that sells many different things. Buy items for your keitai, or items that you can use on Tamagotchi Planet, or have your house upgraded! When you enter the TamaTama Market, you will be shown the Market Menu: Keitai Shop At the Keitai Shop, your Keitai can communicate with the Home Deka to purchase items (this is the same kind of shopping function that can be found on the yellow Deka Tamagotchi's placed in stores around Japan). 1. Enter the Keitai Shop using the A button to highlight, B to enter. 2. After seeing the shop clerk's explanation, you will be shown the Product category screen. Highlight the category you'd like to purchase from with the A button, and press B to enter. The 'Specialty Products' that were available from the yellow Deka Tamagotchi are not available on the Home Deka. When you press the A button while viewing the Prouduct Categories, you will scroll through the category screens as follows: 3. Next, press the B button while at the desired product category screen. *If you select the 'character specific items' category, you will be shown another set of screens (scroll through with A) from which you can choose a character to buy for. 4. When you have selected an item, you will be asked 'Do you want to purchase?' If you say 'yes', you will be shown the communication screen. 5. Enter Deka Tama communication mode on your Keitai. 6. In the same manner as money transferring from the Gotchi Ginko, start communications between the Deka and Keitai. 7. If the transmission has been successful, your selected item will be sent to your Keitai! The Keitai will display a 'purchase?' screen - select 'purchase' with the A button, and press B to enter. The price of the item will be deducted from the Keitai's point collection, and the purchase is complete. *Items purchased at the Keitai store are sent directly to your Keitai, so they will not appear in your Deka Treasure Box. Gotchi Shop At the Gotchi Shop you can buy items for use in your Deka Tamagotchi. 1. Enter the Gotchi Shop using the A button to highlight, B to enter. 2. After seeing the shop clerk's explanation, you will be shown the Product category screen. Highlight the category you'd like to purchase from with the A button, and press B to enter. When you press the A button while viewing the Prouduct Categories, you will scroll through the category screens as follows: 3. Use the A button to scroll through categories and items, and use B to select specific categories/items. 4. When you have selected an item, you will be asked 'Do you want to purchase?' Select 'yes' to complete the purchase. Items that you purchase at the Gotchi store will be organized into categories in your Treasure Box. You cannot buy items that you already have. Even if you do not have a pet, you can still buy Pet Items, you just won't be able to use them. Real Estate You can use the points that you collect to upgrade your Tamagotchi Planet House and make it bigger. As you make your house bigger, the exterior and interior will change. 1. Enter the Real Estate office by using the A button to highlight, B to enter. 2. After the store clerk's explanation, you will be shown a picture of a new house, and a price. If you want to upgrade your house, press B. 3. The next screen will ask 'upgrade?'. Select yes, and construction will begin on your new house. Once you have upgraded your house, you cannot go back to a smaller house again. House upgrades progress as follows: What to do at the Tamagotchi School If you go to the Tamagotchi school, you can talk to other tamagotchi characters. Have lots of conversations, and make friends! 1. When you enter the Tamagotchi School, you will see the Classroom Screen. 2. While at the Classroom Screen, press the B button, and a tamagotchi characterwill come to talk to you. 3. Have fun talking to the tamagotchi character! *conversations will happen automatically, you do not need to press any buttons. 4. When the conversation is over, you will be returned to the Classroom Screen. If you want to have another conversation, press the B button again. Things to do at the Gotchi Emperor's Castle There are always fun events happening at the Emperor's Castle! When you enter the castle, either 'TamaList Contest' or 'Fukubiki Taikai' (lottery) will be automatically chosen for you. The Gotchi Emperor will explain the event chosen. TamaList Contest This is a contest that selects the 'Number 1 Tamagotchi'! When you are shown the TamaList Contest screen, press the B button, and the event will automatically begin. If you are chosen as Number 1, you will be awarded a prize! Fukubiki Taikai When you are shown the Fukubiki Taikai title screen, press B to start the lottery. The lottery machine will turn, and if a black ball comes out, you win! *If you go to the Tamagotchi Castle on your birthday, something really special will happen!*
