WHAT: Which toys & video games do retailers predict will rule kids'
wish lists this holiday season? Pokemon? Furby? Star Wars? The
U.S. Toy and Games Council polled top executives at leading toy
retailers to compile objective lists of retailer predictions
for the top-sellers in five categories: toys (overall),
PC games, video games, toys & games sold online, and toys &
games sold in specialty stores. The contents of these lists -
along with the products themselves will be revealed at
PlayDate '99.
More than two dozen of the country's leading toy & video game
companies and retailers are participating in this
exclusive-for-working-media product showcase. Journalists will
have the opportunity to try the top toys and video games for
themselves, interview manufacturer and retailer spokespersons,
and discuss trends with representatives from selected
retailers.

WHEN: Wednesday, Oct. 13, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.: Come discover
retailers' predictions of the hot holiday-sellers, and see the
toys on exhibit with costumed characters and surprise product
launches. Please allow 2-3 hours to complete the showroom tour;
times for special media events planned by individual companies
are TBD
