Special Limited Edition Graduation Furby To be Auctioned for Charity On Yahoo!

Online Charity Event to Benefit Hasbro Children's Hospital

VERNON HILLS, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 27, 1999-- Just in time for graduation, Furby fans will have the chance to own the very first Special Limited Edition Graduation Furby. Tiger Electronics, the manufacturer of Furby, is teaming up with Yahoo!® Auctions (http://auctions.yahoo.com) and the Hasbro Children's Hospital to offer an online charity auction.

Through June 7, people can bid on the first Graduation Furby in the series, as well as four additional Furbys - versions 45, 46, 47 and 48. Each highly-collectible Graduation Furby has black and white fur and is outfitted with a graduation cap. Each is numbered 1-250,000 and come in a specially colored box with a Special Edition Gold Seal. Visitors can now visit Yahoo! Auctions at http://auctions.yahoo.com to bid for the popular animatronic pet. All proceeds will benefit Hasbro Children's Hospital.

``We are thrilled to provide the first Graduation Furby to help benefit such a tremendous cause. Since the original launch of Furby last October, our furry friend has warmed the hearts of millions of children. Reaching out to kids is what Furby is all about,'' said Marc Rosenberg, Tiger's vice president, corporate communications.

This is not the first time that Tiger, Yahoo! Auctions and Hasbro Children's Hospital have collaborated. This past holiday season, the Hasbro Children's Hospital was one of the beneficiaries of a 10 day-long charity auction on Yahoo! Auctions in December in which 500 Furbys were auctioned, totaling $55,000 for the hospital.

``Furby enthusiasts and collectors are very active within our growing Yahoo! Auctions' community,'' said Rich Godwin, brand manager for Yahoo! Auctions. ``We are thrilled to be able to work with Tiger again to give Furby fans a rare opportunity to own the first Graduation Furby and at the same time raise awareness and support the valuable efforts of the Hasbro Children's Hospital.''
