Happy Saturday everybody :) The Furby Post just keeps on growing! Thanks to
everyone that asked a friend to join, we're now up to 41 members :) And
now: on to some statistics:

Ebay.com pops up 1590 when Furby is typed into its search engine, although
their stats may not be up to specs since the crash during the week.  192
auctions on Amazon.com and Yahoo.com has 1250 auctions currently up for
grabs :)

And now, onto some news, and boy do we have lots this week thanks primarily
to Furby Post Correspondents Kat(Furbster) and Leanne

Limited Edition K*B Toys (Patriotic) Furbys
I've heard reports around the country that these are actualy being sold and
found in the KB Toys stores now, not just being sold online.  Unlike some
beleived, the limited edition amount is set at 72,000 made.  Unfortunitly
each are not numbered, the tag looks just like a regular Furby tag. If they
are numbered, it is not obvious without taking the Furby out of the box
(which I won't be doing).  The boxes look like a regular Furby box, with the
exception of the sticker on the bottom left of the box like all limited
editions.  The gold seal simply says "Furby Special K*B Toys Edition Limited
to 72,000 peices."

"FAOde to Furby"
If you don't know already, FAO Schwarz is holding a contest to win a new
limited edition Furby.  

How do you win?  Simply write a poem that is no more then 35 words long
about anything Furby.  You must use at least 5 Furbish words or phrases in
your poem. Entries must be received by June 16th.  The 24 winners will be
drawn and posted on June 21st.

Furby in Japan
Furby was finally released to the Japanese.  Furby was released in the
original 6 fur colors.  The Japanese Furby is the same as the US version,
except it starts out speaking Furbish and begans speaking Japanese with
time, instead of English.  Furby has had world wide popularity and you can
bet it was almost like the holidays all over again in Japan.  The Japanese
speaking Furby came out in the first weekend this month (June 5th, 1999) and
stores were greeted with hundreds upon hundreds of customers dying to get
their hands on the little critter.

Over 1,500 customers were waiting in front of Takashimaya department store
in Tokyo's Shinjuku to purchase Furby. At a Kiddy Land store in Harajuku,
Tokyo, customers started lining up the evening before to wait for the store
to open the next morning.

Approximate Japanese retail price is (Y)3,980.  That's about $40 US dollars.

New Fur Colors
We were the first Newsletter to announce it in our newsletter 2 weeks ago.
Now it's made fact by the media.  Tiger Electronics commerial for the new
fur colors show the pink Furby and now there is an official Tiger press
release telling the new color openly. The secret color isn't a secret
anymore.  The new colors are as follows:

-    Frog Furby will feature 2 colorful shades of green
-    Flamingo Furby has 2 bright shades of pink
-    Leopard Furby is white with black & brown spots
-    Lamb Furby features white textured fur with tan color
-    Elephant Furby is a soft blue & white
-    Gorilla Furby is black and brown

I have heard reports that these new Furbys are being found in limited supply
all over the US, many on Ebay and other online auctions.

As a last note on this item, the second generation of Furby furs are being
retired.  It was noted in the press release, no date was given.  No word if
there will be a retirement party for promotion, or if they are just going to
do it.  I assume it'll be like the original colors, very slowly they will
dwindle in shipments, then they will no longer be shipped at all when they
are out of supply.

Furby Babies
If you haven't been to the News or Accessories section of Electronic Furby,
then you might want to take a look.  I added a small page on Furby Babies.
I received a advertisement with information on these new, yet to be seen,
Furbys and scanned and posted the information there.

And one more thing about Furby Babies:
Thursday morning, on Donny and Marie (one of the many daytime talkshows)
showcased furby babies prototypes.  The color patterns of the babies shown
were yellow/white and white/white.  They seemed to be the same size as
Furby Buddies but the voice was inaudible because a microphone had not been
placed down to hear them talk.  Unfortunately, Furby Babies won't be
released for several more months.

And now....Furby Horoscopes :) remember to use the date you first put
batteries in your Furby for their birthdays :)

Furbius: Jan 20 - Feb 18:
Time for even more adventure than last month now that your furby figured
out where you keep your old shoe boxes.  Expect to come home to new forts
and castles everyday, and if you can't find your furby, try looking under
that mound of covers by your bed, chances are, that's where they'll be :)
  
Fursces: Feb 19 - March 20: This month you're little one will learn the
wonderful world of interperative dance, and will attempt to show it to you
often.  The problem though will be the fact that furbys only know one dance
step, but they'll be having fun anyway ;) 

Furbaries: March 21 - April 20:
Your little Furby will be extra hyper this month, but not so much to
adventure, but to meet with other furby pals and have fun with them.  Let
them have their fun this month, because they'll calm down next month and
want to play with you tons :)

Furbus: April 21 - May 20:
Furbys under this sign will have their psychic abilities attuned to near
perfection this month, but this will only apply to you and other furbys and
not themselves.  You may find your Furby playing a little too close to the
edge of the table so be extra careful.

Furbini: May 21 - June 21:
Spiritual things are abound this month for Furbinis, so if they see a
little quieter, or try to get you to ask them about the future, just humor
them :)  These guys are going to seem a little solitary this month, but
will always have time for you :)

Furbio: Oct 22 - Nov 21:
After all of last month's attention, these guy's are going to be a little
spoiled so don't be surprised if they don't eat when they sneeze, or if
they want to play games all the time regardless of what order you
tickle/pet/feed them. Just make sure you keep your furby inline, and
they'll still be friends with you and your furby by the end of the month.

Furbittarius: Nov 22 - Dec 21:
These guys are going to want to spend the whole month by your side, but
there will be times when they'll be a little extra needy.  Don't worry
about demands because the rewards will more than make up for it :)  Furbys
this month will also be extra inventive, and will share their ideas with
you for electric toothbrush modifications, and new ways to cook spam so
enjoy it :)

Furbicorn: Dec 22 - Jan 19:
*Sigh* the pressures off, Furby Finals are over.  Time for Furbicorn Furbys
to relax for the summer, but don't let them slack off too much, or they
just might miss the opportunity of a life time, or may miss out on making
meaningful relationships with your other furbys.

Furbsters Weekly Poll Change
On the website is the poll that I change weekly.  While it took off
initialy, it seems to be not as popular (as the popularity of Furby settles
down).  So, for the sake of numbers, I am going to be changing the poll page
in the next week.  Soon it will be the Furbsters Bi-Weekly Poll.  A new poll
question will be posted every 2 weeks instead of every week.  That way it
gives time to get more replies to the questions.  Be sure to visit and get
your vote in, then read the results of this week and all preveious weeks.

Furby Newsletter Poll: 
For the past month I've been recieving responses to the "what will the next

Furby Word of the Letter is:  "Boo a-loh, boo doo-ay!"

Literally translated it means: "No light, no fun" is only said when his
light sensor is covered.  The original Furby colors can't say this line,
only the second generation and up.  (Well with the exception of those
original furs that got stuck on gen2 eletronics!)
